Totalview is a powerful parallel debugger, providing controlled access to an applications runtime state.

Its abilities go beyond the widely used, but cumbersome printf debugging.

Besides the usual graphical user interface and ability to run a application in a controlled manner of modern debuggers, it offers state-of-the-art support for debugging of MPI and OpenMP applications as well as a unique ability to reverse the execution of an application to step backwards.
