Topics: Python Basics: Introduction: first steps, basic types, statements and syntax, functions, modules, classes, exceptions.

Method: Lectures and hands-on sessions

Target Group: Python for beginners with experience in another programming method/language

Participants of module 2b will be preferred

Module 2b: Scientific Python

Topics: Introduction to the SciPy stack: working with numerical data in Python (NumPy), plotting (Matplotlib), high level scienti fi c programming (SciPy)

Target group: Persons with basic knowledge in Python
