In this talk, we will present Extra-P, an automatic performance-modeling tool that helps users identify scaling bottlenecks. First, we will explain why performance models are important and why assistance in creating them is necessary. Then, we will provide an overview of performance modeling with Extra-P. We will explain the most important aspects of the underlying method and discuss its limitations. Lastly, we will present the recommended workflow for performance modeling with Extra-P.
