HPC Bytes: Where to store data on HPC systems
Content
Knowing where to store which kind of data is critical for conducting research successfully. Differences in purpose, size, speed, and data lifetime demand thinking strategically and being aware of a compute project's data footprint. In this talk, we will showcase common patterns of data storage on German and Hessian HPC clusters, and discuss strategies surrounding the optimal use of these different storage types, as well as avoiding common pitfalls w.r.t. data storage.
