HPC-Häppchen: Efficient Numpy

Numerical computations with arrays are a central aspect of scientific computing. We demonstrate how to efficiently use the well-known NumPy package for computations based on multi-dimensional arrays. We discuss how code changes resulting from profiling as well as some algebraic manipulations of the underlying equations can lead to noticeable speed up. In some cases such changes also will allow for parallel code execution.
